In case anyone wasn't sure...

[livejournal.com profile] liret just called to inform me that she saw a copy of DH that was accidentally put out early in a bookstore.

It is in the New Haven Train Station, if anyone wants one.

And in case anyone wants to know for sure whether the carpet copy is real,

It is.

PS: MAJOR SPOILERS IN COMMENTS.

I was sort of hoping that when the Sorting Hat burned up that they'd stop sorting completely and end all of the inter-house rivalries, which would have been effing awesome, so I was like, bwuh?! when they start talking about it later. but I figured there must have been a way to mend it. Maybe it's someone else's Horcrux so Voldy didn't destroy it.

And I am so looking forward to the H_E apps being all "WELL HARRY SAYS WE GET TO PICK WHICH HOWSE WE WANT!"

AND OMG NEVILLE IS MY HERO NOW.

Oh man, I so don't want to deal with the sorting nonsense that's going to come from this book. NO YOU STILL DON'T GET TO PICK YOUR HOUSE YOU IDIOT! Really though, haven't we established by now that Harry doesn't know what he's talking about at least half the time?

That and Dumbledore implying that Snape should have been in Gryffindor just pisses me off. Especially since after this book? I'm thinking Dumbledore is so damn Slytherin he might as well be Salazar's descendant himself. Maybe Neville and his groping hands will do a better job than the old sorting hat!

MAYBE NEVILLE WAS GROPING SNAPE THAT WHOLE LAST YEAR AND THAT IS WHY THEY ARE BOTH SO BADASS.

And yeah. I think that's just Dumbledore being a prejudiced twit like usual. This was the first book where I really liked Dumbledore because Rowling finally embraced the fact that he's an asshole.
