ARTSES

1. Potential job stuffy tomorrow! Yay.
2. I spent the whole day trying to update THE MOST HORRIBLY DESIGNED WEBSITE EVER. SRSLY. Every page of it was a single GIANT IMAGE MAP. Who does this? I don't know if the designer was trying to force the client to keep using him every time they needed an update, or if they were just that dumb. Ugh. They didn't even make the image maps the normal way so that I could open them in Photoshop, nooo, that would be too easy. THEY WERE ALL SAVED AS .SWFs. As I don't have a current version of Flash, this was NOT POSSIBLE. WTF.
3. My cat has hiccups. He is asleep, and has hiccups.
4. He also keeps licking Marcello Puppy. So far, I have not been fast enough on the draw to get a picture of this with my camera.
5.

My character and [livejournal.com profile] quizzicalsphinx's.

But ZOMG, FLASH IS THE FUTURE. HAVING A COMPLETELY UNNAVIGATABLE AND UNUPDATABLE SITE IN FLASH MAKES US COOL.

(I can relate. I took on some commission work from someone I WANT TO STAB IN THE HEAD REPEATEDLY.)

It wasn't even IN Flash! It was in giant .jpgs the guy MADE USING FLASH.

BUT THE FILE ENDING WAS .SWF SO THAT MAKES US COOL.

(I have actually had people ask me to do that sort of thing. "Can you do it in Flash?" "But, er, there's no point to it. It's just going to take longer to load and be annoying for everyone." "But we heard all the good websites use Flash so we want to too!" "But you have no content that would actually use it." "Oh." Of course, this was also the same guy who dropped the most _hideous_ image files on me to be using for his navigation, so really, there wasn't any actual help for him.)

Oh, ew. Never had that happen, at least. This is one who got the site built by one guy and is begging me to fix it.

I wouldn't actually be all _that_ surprised if they guy did it just so they wouldn't have a choice other than him, or having the thing totally remade from scratch.

Neither would I; I've worked with clients before who knew that someone pulled that with them.
