The Bobbsey Twins are a bit disturbing because they're extremely racist and sexist
Re-reading a lot of my favourite childrens' books/authors, a lot of them seem to be the same! VERY different mentalities back in the 30s/40s/50s when most were written. It's also interesting reading books written during WWI or WWII that mention the wars... a LOT of racism in there!
