It's so strange the way things from the past can work their way to you. Like, I needed to replace my wedding ring (which was bought on the cheap and was damaged beyond what it was worth to repair), and my mother had just finished going through some jewelry she inherited from her aunt. She found a wedding set that turned out, after some detective work, to belong to my biological great-grandmother, who died when my grandmother was a child. It's the set I wear now - having that connection to the past is most definitely a magical feeling.
