HOLY CRAP DO YOU KNOW WHAT DAY IT IS?
Today is the day of the tenth anniversary of my LiveJournal!
That is some awesome stuff!!!! I totally had no idea, but then

pinkfinity said something on Twitter about how ten years ago, she was about to start an LJ, and I was like, well, shoot! This would have been my tenth anniversary, and I guess I missed it! Because I knew it was sometime in December, 2001.BUT I DIDN'T MISS IT. IT WAS TODAAAAY. SERENDIPITOUS.
I had tried to start a blog previous to being on LJ, but I didn't actually know that blog software existed and I was just updating an HTML file by hand. BECAUSE I FAIL. Then
atomicfiction got a LiveJournal, and I sort of copied him, as all good people are wont to do.*PUTS ON NOSTALGIAPANTS*

And I have a hypothetical question for you. If one was having a birthday get-together-with-friends-for-drinks-near-times-square of a Saturday evening at about 6ish (pre-theater) where should one go? And are you available to come hang out at about 6ish on Jan 14?

I think it depends what sort of drinks, price range, do you want food, that kind of stuff? If you are looking for something nice, I might recommend Toloache, which is a Mexican place that makes really nice margarita type drinks and has good small plates if people want appetizers. If you're looking for a classic bar-bar, Rum House is super classy old fashioned style bar but can be a bit tough if you have a large group. If you just want beer there are a couple Heartland Breweries right in the area that are perfectly decent for that kind of thing, and my go-to work pub is McGee's, although that is getting slightly uptown of theater district.

I do love Toloache and may be doing dinner there - and will definitely look into the other options. Does the Paramount still have a good bar?
