General Life Update
Aug. 15th, 2010 03:15 pmI’m been totally faily on updating the past few weeks, so let me do a quick one of stuff that has been going on.
–If you haven’t checked out the Oh, Brother! website yet, you should! It is a lot of fun!
–I made chocolate malted ice cream this week using barley malt to flavor the ice cream. I will post that recipe later. I have a bunch of others I need to post, like the goat’s milk ice cream sweetened with maple syrup that I just made, and the blueberry sorbet I made a couple weeks ago. Oh, and the bourbon vanilla I made last week.
–I have been shopping for furniture, which has kind of been full of fail. Everything I’m finding is vary dark, and I want bright candy colors. My mom and I went to like four stores last week and something like eight yesterday, and I’m just not seeing anything that is right. I need accent chairs, side tables, and maybe some additional shelves for my living room. I want wood that’s been finished in white (antique white is okay) or very light wood, with raspberry, lime, turquoise, sunny yellow, and/or indigo. But everything seems to be finished dark or black. I don’t know if anyone has any suggestions. I’ve been looking at more teen furniture, which seems to be finished the way I want, but there really isn’t any nice seating in any of the teen catalogues I’ve been looking at.
–I have been massively failing at drawing. I just joined prompt_in_a_box because I am hoping they will get me some new prompts that I can use to get back on the drawing wagon. I need to make comics, people! If anyone wants to make suggestions for things for me to draw, please do so!
–I went to see Rina and others on a panel at MoCCA last week about comics! It was mostly stuff I had heard before but it was fun to see Rina and we went out to dinner with a bunch of folks after.
–My Playmobils are missing! This is really distressing. I have some of them, but the majority of them– my pirate island, my prison, and two of my ships seem to have vanished into thin air, plus the box that was full of people. I am upset because I finally have an apartment big enough to set them all up again– the last time I was able to do that was in Boston. We took the garage apart trying to find them, but no luck at all. It’s very upsetting!
–I need art for my new apartment! If you are one of the many many cartoonist type people I keep around, I would like to know if you have original art for sale, and what the prices are! I might consider prints, but I really want to get more originals. If you have a website with your original pieces up, just shoot me a link. If not, please feel free to message me with general pricing/ sizes/availability type stuff. I don’t have a lot to spend on this but I may also ask for some art for Christmas.
I think that’s everything I can think of to talk about! Love to everybody!
