I sort of flaked as far as posting cooking posts this week. To be honest, I started taking pictures and felt like I've covered everything I could possibly think of writing about Thanksgiving in the past couple of years, and it seemed silly to try to write more.

Suffice to say, Thanksgiving was wonderful and I was exceedingly proud of my turkey. I think I've finally perfected the technique-- it involves brining, THEN salting, THEN glazing the turkey. The gravy was some of the best gravy I've ever eaten in my life.

I'll post pictures later!

Anyway, it was a busy week of cooking! I also did lots of Hogsmeading in [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_elite, which involved entering FORTY ONE contests. I might be insane or something. But I ended up entering every non-timed contest except for the mixtape contest, because I hate mixtape contests and as far as I'm concerned, they don't actually exist. And then a few of the timed ones, too.

I cooked like a crazy fiend, and [livejournal.com profile] liret hung around and cut most of the onions. Actually, I think she cut all of the onions, and many of the other vegetables, while I swirled things into sauces and glazes and yummmm.

Anyway, this has been a really good year for me and I would like to say thank you to everyone who has made that possible. For the first time, I actually have a thriving social life-- sometimes a little too thriving, if you ask me. I have made lots of new friends and strengthened friendships. I've gained a lot of confidence in my social abilities and worked at fighting off my anxiety and I think that would not be possible without such good friends. I am thankful for all the fun visits I have had this year-- from some of you coming to see me, to me coming to see some of you.

I should probably single out [livejournal.com profile] liret for always being there no matter what, because she is the most awesome best friend a lady could have. And when I say "always there no matter what," let's just understand that she is on the sofa next to me.

I could thank so many of you for wonderful things you have done or said this year but know that I appreciate each and every one of you and you help me be a better person. You are warm and welcoming and loving and supportive and intelligent and insightful. And that is all awesome.

So, thanks for being yourselves!
