Looking again, the second shot makes it look like your hair is floatier than the first, which I imagine means they've taken some of the weight out of your hair. I guess that's one of the things that only you're going to really notice. :) I always freak out whenever I see how much hair gets cut off me (upon first looking at the floor), but it still looks like I have heaps of hair left on my noggin!
I can't believe the salon lady said it was okay to only get hair cut once or twice a year! You seem to do the same trick as me - I get my hair cut just as frequently, but I usually get these bewildered or slightly disapproving looks when I get asked when the last time I had a cut was, and I reply 'oh, about this time last year'. I don't really mind getting an expensive cut either, 'cos I only do it once a year, and there have been that many times when I've gone to a cheap hairdresser only to go to a better one later on to fix whatever I'm not happy with.
What frustrates me the most is hairdressers that push their producty agenda onto me, even after I've said that all I want with my hair is to be able to put it all back in a neat bun, and I do my hair typically at 0500 so I don't have time for straighteners and five different styling products. Then they go and give me fancy layers which need to be clipped back so they don't end up in people's food, or a fringe which doesn't go with my natural part (I don't have time to retrain my hair to fall a different way every morning?!), or blow dry my hair in such a way that I just feel like a freshly groomed poodle when I walk out of there. Ugh.
Sometimes I get some pretty monster bed hair, because I undo my military bun last thing at night. And the elves. I blame the elves.
