2008

I need to post a comment to explain what this is. I woke up at seven this morning and saw something I had never seen and never expected to see again in my life: a rabbit in my NEW YORK CITY YARD.

A Rabbit. In New York City.

It was a brown-and-black rabbit that looked more like a hare than a rabbit, actually. I tried to take a picture, but it ran away.

Then, later this afternoon, Jess was like, "I think I saw something moving outside."

I looked, and sure enough, there was a bunny.

But not even the SAME bunny. This one. Which is more bunny-ish.

HOLY SHIT, MAN. As [livejournal.com profile] quizzicalsphinx said, WATERSHIP DOWNTOWN.

And yes, [livejournal.com profile] bunnymcfoo, the bunnies totally came out for your birthday.

I want to attest, as a eye-witness, that this is a bunny. In Tea's backyard. In New York City.

It is also adorable.

OMG Watership Downtown is totally correct. That is so cute. I wonder if it is tame ones that have been let loose and are now wild? The bunnies down south where I came from totally had one or two like that, so odd amongst all the natural browns.

Just like Watership Down Actually...

I blame Serendipity

Is that a domestic bunny (http://images.google.com/images?q=dutch+rabbit&ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title)?

WILDLIFE! :D :D :D

Though it looks more like an escaped or lost pet / offspring of an escaped or lost pet than an actual, um, wild rabbit. If that makes sense?
