...and now my birthday will be forever remembered as the day Kurt Vonnegut died. Great.

Aww. I'm sorry. But people don't seem to remember days people die so much as days they were born, not after a while.

Life is more important than death. Death just gives us a time to celebrate life.

Anyway, happy birthday! And if someone is going to die on your birthday, at least it's someone who said, "Maturity is a bitter disappointment for which no remedy exists, unless laughter could be said to remedy anything."

Probably the most adorable picture of him ever. Toy ride plus cigarette and not amused look? Totally Vonnegut.

I went looking for a really good one. I hearted this one! It was either this or one of his self-portraits.

In a similar vein, someone posted this link on reedLJ; it's himself being interviewed by Jon Stewart. Thought I'd share.

Seeing this made me sad. I loved his style of writing so much. He was one of those people I wanted to meet some day :(

Yeah. I'm really crushed by this. He was such an influence to me when I was a kid and we desperately need his sanity.
