[livejournal.com profile] liret just called to inform me that she saw a copy of DH that was accidentally put out early in a bookstore.

It is in the New Haven Train Station, if anyone wants one.

And in case anyone wants to know for sure whether the carpet copy is real,

It is.

Honestly, it's a kid's fantasy series and I LOVE the random details (Ravenclaws having to answer a question was GOLD, only JKR could dream that up) and this book was just fabulous, so oh well. It also felt, as one of the reviewers commented, oddly inevitable - which to me meant it must align pretty well with canon/the spirit of the books.

Oh, god, yes. I loved the Ravenclaw "password." It just made me squee so much.

Oh man, the Ravenclaw password was so fabulous! And yeah, it's the details that really made me love this book, that's how I am with most of them. Don't care so much about Harry, Ron and Hermione really. But Aberforth was so completely awesome!

Yeah, I have my priorities

I was DYING when they talked about Aberforth getting done for fiddling with goats. If that isn't a shout-out to the parents reading bedtime stories, I don't know what is.
