It is a series of videos, actually! They were made over the last three years and feature a 90+ year old woman cooking and telling stories from her childhood. It's like having your very own grandmother who lived through the depression (though, clearly, you have one of your own!)

Oh, awesome! I always think about getting my grandparents to tell stories onto video but I feel like it would be invasive.

There is a story about my engagement ring, which apparently involves WWII in some manner, and I am afraid of losing the story. I really need to ask about it some day soon. The ring belonged to Tim's great grandmother, and his grandfather always gushes over the continuity that I have it, and mentions interesting tidbits but never finishes the story.

Anyway, yeah, family stories. I want to collect them for future generations.

Wow, that sounds like it could be an awesome story. I do, too. I feel like we have fewer stories of our own and more stories that come from outside ourselves and it's important to hold onto that more personal storytelling.
